 TRAVEL CLINIC
M-KEM's Registered Travel Clinic is located in the Bounce Department on M-KEM's first floor. The service is available Mon - Fri: 08h00 - 18h00 and Sat 08h00 - 13h00.
Due to the possible side effects of live vaccines, M-KEM's Nursing Sisters will not administer these vaccinations after 18h00 unless there are urgent circumstances.
Updated information with regard to Outbreak Alerts and each unique traveller's requirements is readily available.
A multitude of conditions apply regarding age, physical and mental state, mode of travel, destination, season and a host of other conditions. Therefore it is advantageous to any would-be traveller to contact the clinic prior to visiting, in order to allow preparation for his / her specific travel arrangements.
Vaccinations would include Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A and B and Meningitis. Certification of vaccinations will be included with the relevant inoculations.
Items such as water purification tablets, mosquito nets, diarrhoea medication, flight stockings, First Aid kits and re-hydration medication are some of the items usually forgotten and sadly only missed on reaching the traveller's destination. Special attention will be required for the 'Special Needs traveller' such as diabetics, pregnant women, paraplegics, etc. A new travel Pack will soon be available containing the essentials in a compact container.
